Armed Forces Day is Saturday May 21, 2022
Armed Forces Day is a special holiday for people all over the world to come together and thank the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. First conceived by President Harry S. Truman, the holiday was established in 1949.
The creation of a single day celebration for all branches of the United States military made sense due to its recent unification under the Department of Defense. Today, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of every May, this year falling on May 21.
Armed Forces Day honors those who are currently serving in the U.S. military. The Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard make up the armed forces of the United States. Joining the US Armed Forces is an incredibly selfless act that deserves recognition.
Military personnel risk their lives every day to keep citizens safe. The holiday was originally designed to help citizens better understand the military and its role in our society and it's an opportunity for the average person to show support for that sacrifice.
Thank you to all who chose to serve this Country. ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ

Great day to be out talking with voters again!
- Lots of frustration over impact of COVID lockdowns and forced masking on children's mental health, development, and education.
- Several involved in small businesses felt our state was far too restrictive with COVID lockdowns compared to others such as Florida and South Carolina.
- Mandatory long term school closures hurt parents who had to stay home with children.
I reminded them of the votes of their current unelected state senator, Sydney Batch, who voted against:
โIn-Person Learning Choice for Families
โParental Discretion in Masking - "Free the Smiles Act"
โAllowing Gyms/Fitness Centers and other businesses the option to reopen safely
โClarifying Governor Cooper's Emergency Powers
It's time for a change in NC Senate representation for Southern Wake County!

Support Mark Cavaliero for NC Senate 100%. Our choice for NC and our Senate Representative!
Way to go Mark. Show them how it’s done.
Friends - Great news! Surrounded by blue in Wake County, the latest @CNalysis projection shows that District 17 is now slightly leaning red. We've still got months of HARD fighting on our hands, but we've come a long way from when everyone said District 17 was not winnable.
As a Marine – I fought for this country overseas, now the battle is here at home. We're doing all the right things, and I'm putting in the winning effort every day. I need your help to power the fight. My Democrat opponent is raising big money, much of it from out of state. In order to win, I'm going to have to get my message out, and that takes $$$.
Please join me in this fight today and pitch in whatever you can, any amount will make a difference and help me to buy signs, digital advertising, TV/Radio spots, postage, and mailers.
WE CAN AND WILL WIN IN WAKE COUNTY!
THANK YOU!!!
